Fascial Fitness Workshop
Saturday, March 15th, 1:30 – 4:00 p.m.
Led by Sarah Birger
Workshop fee is $35
You've got this injury that you just can't shake. You follow referrals to physical therapists and massage therapists and yet recovery has not been 100 percent.
Or maybe you've been stiff since birth and have NEVER been able to touch your toes so everyone tells you to try yoga. You tried it once and spent the next three days in bed.
Perhaps you CAN place your foot behind your head (or darn close). Should you be doing that?!
Consider this: most injuries are connective-tissue (fascial) injuries, not muscular injuries. Fascia is the biological container and connector for every organ and muscle in your body; it is the web that literally holds your bones together. So how do we best train to prevent and repair damage and build elasticity and resilience into this system?
I have spent the past year investigating this question. My teachers have included Thomas Meyers, Dr. Robert Schleip, Divo Mueller, Sadie Nardini, Dr. Ray McClanahan, Natalie Pace and the many students of movement who I teach at Half Moon Yoga Studio, at Island Athletic Club, at Bayview Curves, and at the South Whidbey Bayview Senior Center.
Like me, you probably want to know better ways to get more out of your fitness or therapy regime so that movement is efficient, effective and FEELS GOOD.
To learn more, join me for an afternoon
of interactive lecture and MOVEMENT
that just may inform, delight and assist you
in aging ever more gracefully.
